From freelancer to trusted name in Dubai
Ahmed picked up a camera for the first time in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, working as a hotel photographer, shooting families and couples at the resort. No formal training, no mentor. Just a camera, a natural instinct for light, and guests who kept asking for more prints.
In 2016, he moved to Dubai and joined Blue Coast Photography as a team manager – overseeing 13 photographers spread across some of the city’s best hotel properties: Sofitel The Palm, Dukes, Five Palm Jumeirah, and Waldorf Astoria. Training new photographers, managing daily shoots, and building systems that worked at scale. That period taught him everything about delivering volume without losing quality.
In 2018, he went independent and launched Tall Photographer. Private shoots first, then video, then product photography, then commercial drone work after getting his UAE drone license. The team grew to include full production capability. photographers, videographers, retouchers, models, makeup artists, and stylists, all coordinated under one studio for clients who needed more than just a camera on the day.

Meet Ahmed – the tall one behind the camera
Ahmed is 6’2″ – which is exactly where the name comes from. He picked up a camera in Sharm El Sheikh and never really put it down. By the time he moved to Dubai in 2016, he wasn’t just a photographer – he was managing a team of 13, coordinating daily shoots across four of the Palm’s most recognised hotels, and learning what it actually takes to deliver consistently at scale.
In 2018 he launched Tall Photographer to do things his own way: tighter briefs, faster delivery, and full production capability under one roof. He got his commercial drone licence, built out a freelancer network of photographers, videographers, models, makeup artists, and stylists, and started taking on the kind of work that other studios needed three vendors to handle.
His approach hasn’t changed: understand the brief properly, show up prepared, deliver fast, and never hand over a frame he wouldn’t be proud of himself.

How many photographers are on the team?
Core team of three working photographers across photo and video, plus retouchers and a production coordinator. For larger productions, we bring in trusted freelancers we’ve worked with regularly.
Where are you based?
Dubai. We work across all UAE emirates – Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and beyond. We also travel internationally for destination weddings and editorial projects.
Are you a licensed photographers?
Yes – Tall Photographer is a fully licensed photography and videography service registered in the UAE. We can provide licensing documentation on request for agency and government clients.
What's your standard delivery time?
48 hours is the standard on all bookings. Small shoots (solo portraits, headshots) can be turned around in 24 hours – either included in the package or with a rush fee. Wedding packages: same-week preview gallery, full delivery within 14 days.
Do you work with agencies on retainer?
